Sentinus Youth Board

We’re proud to announce the launch of the Sentinus Youth Board, a new initiative giving young people a voice in the future of STEM education in Northern Ireland.

Our first Youth Board is made up of eight inspiring students aged 14–18 from across Northern Ireland. These passionate young people bring fresh ideas, diverse perspectives, and a shared enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering, and maths.

What We’re Hoping to Achieve

The Youth Board plays a key role in helping Sentinus ensure our programmes are engaging, inclusive, and relevant to young people. Throughout the year, members will:

  • Take part in regular meetings to discuss STEM education and career pathways

  • Share their views on Sentinus programmes and how they can be improved

  • Support events, workshops, and outreach activities

  • Connect with STEM professionals to gain insight into real-world careers

  • Act as ambassadors for STEM in their schools and communities

By giving young people a seat at the table, we’re building a stronger link between education, industry, and the next generation of innovators.

Calling All Industry Professionals

We’re actively looking for partners across the STEM sector to support the Youth Board in their journey. Whether you can offer:

  • Career talks, Q&As or mentoring

  • Office, lab or site visits

  • Work experience or shadowing opportunities

  • Project collaboration or sponsorship

…we’d love to hear from you!

Your involvement helps equip young people with the skills, confidence, and insight they need to pursue careers in STEM – and ensures that industry plays an active role in shaping future talent.
