Sentinus SETPOINT Northern Ireland
Junior Engineer for Britain

Target Group: Years 6 - 7

Junior Engineers for Britain is a national activity managed by Young Engineers and directed at primary schools to encourage participation in design and build problem-solving activities. Every year during April and May Sentinus runs five regional heats throughout Northern Ireland, each involving pupils from up to 20 primary schools. Working in pairs, the pupils are asked to design and build a solution to a "challenge" using K'Nex construction kits and their finished models are judged by teams of Science and Engineering Ambassadors (SEAs).

From these regional heats a total of 25 teams are selected to complete in Northern Ireland Final at Seagate Young Innovators during June.  All participating schools are provided with K'Nex construction kits for use in the class room.
