For the F1 in Primary Schools programme teams of pupils design, make, assemble and race a model racing car in card, powered on a 25m track by compressed CO2.  Teams may use an existing template for their car body or design their own.  Their chosen design is fed to an automated card cutter after which they can assemble their car and prepare it to race.

Sentinus will provide a workshop for your class to introduce them to the process of designing their car bodies and using the card cutters.  Sentinus will lend a cutter to your school for a period of two weeks to allow teams to produce their cars.

At a regional race event teams will have the opportunity to race their cars and present a display about their design.

The programme allows pupils to develop a wide range of skills including team working, problem solving, communication, presentation and much more.
