Big Bug Hunt
Target Group: Years 1 - 7
The Big Bug Hunt is a science based programme which asks primary school pupils to record data on invertebrate life within a range of habitats. Teachers and students carry out a survey of selected one metre square areas of a range of habitat types which can include grass, leaf litter, ponds and pond margins, woodland, hedgerow and many others. This information is then entered on an online database and compiled to show overall numbers invertebrates. Pupils can acquire and develop a whole range of scientific and life skills through engagement in this activity.
